How do I customize iSamJackson/SamDroidJackson?

Customize your sound board by changing the label on the pages and buttons, creating or removing pages, and assigning sounds to be played by buttons.

Customizing Pages - to edit a page’s title, add a page, or remove a page from the sound board, press and hold on the title of the page at the top of the soundboard to open the page configuration interface.

Customizing Buttons - to customize the label of a sound board button or change the sounds played by that button, press and hold the button down for about a second to open the button customization interface. You also can tap on name in the scrolling list of sounds to select which sound the button will play.

In the “More” tab there is a button labeled “Restore Default Configuration.” This will return the sound board to its initial configuration.

When I open the download tab in the app it says no purchases are available.

Chances are our servers are unavailable for some reason - a network outage, maintenance, flooding, fire, party foul, etc. Please check back later!

I bought an add-on and it downloaded the files. Where are they?

If you go to the very last page of the soundboard you will find a list of all the sounds you own. You can see only the sounds you downloaded if you click on the “Downloads” button on the top of that sound list interface. Sometimes new sounds are also used for the decision maker and coolness scanner features.

If you want to use the newly downloaded sounds on other pages in your soundboard you can customize it to do so. See the topic “How do I customize iSamJackson?”

Someone I know got an add-on I like, but I can’t get it myself?

Some add-on content is only available for a limited time. Be sure to allow “Notifications” for iSamJackson to ensure you don’t miss out again! You can toggle this in your device’s settings.

Allowing “Badges” will let us put a number on the iSamJackson app icon that shows how many new downloads you may find available. Allowing “Alerts” allows pop-up alert interfaces to open on your device when we have news to share when the app isn’t running!

I bought an add-on from the download tab but it didn’t download?

First, make sure you didn’t miss it downloading - double check on the last page of your soundboard. Any new sounds you downloaded should be in the “Downloads” view of that list interface.

If the new sounds are truly missing, you may need to give the system some time to finish completing the transaction. If a lot of time has passed (more than a few minutes), open the “More” tab and press the “Restore AddOn Purchases” button. This will cause the app to check with the iTunes store for a valid purchase and reprocess any previously made transactions.

If that doesn’t work you may want to try deleting and reinstalling the application. Note, however, that doing this will cause any application customization to be lost. Add-ons you previously acquired will be downloaded again automatically when you open the “Download” tab after reinstalling.

In the worst case, you can submit a support email to us by clicking the support email link on the “More” page of the app. It is recommended you send the email from the app, as it includes a user identifier that aides us in remedying the problem you have encountered.

I bought a new iPod/iPhone, can I move my stuff over?

If you are using the same iTunes login you can move your iTunes purchases over by installing iSamJackson on the new device, opening the “More” tab, and pressing the “Restore AddOn Purchases” button. Please note that free limited availability downloads may not carry over to the new device as this process only recovers purchased content with a traceable receipt.

Why am I not hearing sound on my iPod/iPhone speaker?

When we encounter sound playback problems, it is generally one of two things:

  1. If using an iPhone, make sure it isn’t in silent/vibrate mode (the switch by the volume buttons flipped back). The application respects that setting and will not emit sound with the speaker with that set - sound will continue to play through the headphones, however. Not all applications respect that setting, so other apps may still be using the speaker even if iSamJackson isn’t.
  2. Sometimes iPhones/iPods get confused about whether or not headphones are plugged in. When this happens, the device will try to output sound to the headphone jack even when it is not in use. If you have verified your phone is not set to silent/vibrate, this is the next likely situation. To fix this, try repeatedly plugging in some headphones until the device starts to behave itself.

I bought iSamJackson in iTunes and can’t get it to sync to my iPhone/iPod.

There are two known reasons this may happen:

  1. Your device may not have enough free space to sync the application down. If this is the case, you simply need to make some room on the device and try again.
  2. If you bought the explicit version of the application, make sure you don’t have any content restrictions set on your device that would disallow the app to be installed on it. Content restriction settings can be found under Settings → General → Restrictions.

Where Can I find this app if I have an Android phone?

iSamJackson has finally made it to the droid platform and has been renamed SamDroidJackson. Don’t try searching for iSamJackson in the android marketplace because you will probably not find it (ok, no way will you find it). Try searching for SamDroidJackson, one word, you'll have better luck.

How will I get updates for SamDroidJackson?

If a new update for SamDroidJackson is available your Droid phone will alert you. You should also be able to find additional content updates in the Android Marketplace as well.

SamDroidJackson does not work on my Droid phone?

First thing first, make sure you have the most recent update for SamDroidJackson. You can check for this in the Android Marketplace. If this does not fix your problem try restarting your phone. If niether of these work, leave us a message on our Facebook or Twitter letting us know exactly what type of Droid phone you have and we will do our best to assist you as soon as possible.
